Commodore Announces Management Changes at NCYC
The Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Titow as Chief Executive Officer of NCYC. Michael comes to us with extensive experience in senior management specifically in the hospitality industry.
The appointment recognises the increased complexity in managing our Club and will facilitate our future growth plans. The board intends to have Michael assume the role of CEO in the full sense and will require him to oversee all aspects of the Club’s activities.
Our “founding” Chief Executive, Roy Baker, will assume the role of General Manager Operations, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer..
Michael will commence with the Club early March 2011.

Great times at the 2011 Etchells NSW State Championships.
“After racing in the 2011 Thrifty NSW Etchells State Championships was abandoned on Saturday for the day, crews were very keen to get out there again on Sunday and get a title sorted. Perhaps this is why all three starts were clean. Having said that, one vessel did get to within less than a metre of the line before the gun . . . ‘ John Curnow

Big day at the 2011 Etchells NSW State Championships.
Sunshine, strong, predominantly Nor’easterly breezes and a good swell greeted the 35-boat fleet in the Thrifty 2011 Etchells NSW State Championships on Friday. Little wonder then that, Paul Gleeson, Rear Commodore of the host venue, Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club, commented that it was, ‘A big day at the office!’ News story submission and images: John Curnow – jrcurnow@gmail.com

“A members briefing night was held at the club mid January and whilst attendance was disappointing a number of comments and suggestions ‘from the floor’ were constructive and will be taken on board by your Club Directors, sailing committee and management. The opportunity was taken to update the meeting on the performance of the club.” Phil Arnall, Commodore
