Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club

Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club was formed on the 29th of November 1993, with 62 founding members. Today the club currently features 150 floating berths, each with power and water, and an adjoining comprehensive commercial centre, providing goods and services to members and guests.

The marina and administration facilities are located within the commercial centre that offers bathrooms and laundrette services, ships chandlery, tackle store, a beauty therapy salon, seafood cafe, yacht brokerage and a real estate agent.

The N.C.Y.C shipyard is operated by 'NOAKES boatyard. Their services include diesel and unleaded petrol supply, pump out services, a concrete hard stand and a spray paint shop that can accommodate vessels up to 18m long and 70 tonnes. There is also a 40 tonne travel lift that can handle 24m lengths. Endeavour Marine provides comprehensive motor and engine service from a marina pontoon.

The port of Newcastle is an all weather port and is positioned within one of the most naturally protected sites on the Australian east coast. The N.C.Y.C is about 2 Nautical Miles from blue water and harbour entrance.

The N.C.Y.C is enthusiastically supported by a myriad of sponsors for our weekly and annual sailing calendars. For more information about the sponsors or to express interest in sponsorship please contact the sailing office during business hours.

With the growing support and need for more services the yacht club will be enlarging to accommodate another 30 berths and a licensed club. We believe that these facilities will make us one of the best equipped yacht clubs within the region.
