Placed 5th in the 2011 Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race IRC Division, Hugo Boss leaves soon for China. 2011 was an exciting year for the boat, having completed the Barcelona World Race, and competed in the Giraglia Rolex Cup, the Rolex Fastnet Race Challenge and the Artemis Challenge. While named Pindar, she finished fifth in the last Vendee Globe.

National Maritime Festival 2012- An Invitation
NCYC is proud to support the two day National Maritime Festival on 25 and 26 January 2012 which has something for everyone, whether or not you are involved in boating. There are good prizes for the children’s colouring competition, but entries must be posted by 16 January to be eligible. Check their website for details and times of all the fun activities.

Movember 2011
NCYC has fielded a seven man team in the Movember campaign this year. Under the captaincy of our CEO Richard Howard, are other staff members Andrew Hall, Craig Sanders, Michael Smyth Sheldon Black and Tony Laufer. and Club Captain Ernie Thirkell.

Trivia Night Last Thursday Each Month
Trivia evenings will now be a regular feature at NCYC on the last Thursday of every month.
Start time: 7pm
Skins: $200 – $100 Jackpot each month.
Proceeds to: Specific group nominated for each month. June recipient is PHSSC Juniors.
The next trivia night is Thursday, 30 June 2011.
Newcastle Etchells Offshore Regatta 2011 October long weekend
The regatta will be run over 3 days: Saturday 1 October and; Sunday 2 October and Monday 3 October with two races each day.
Liftout will be by Forgacs setup (like the states)

2011 Newcastle to Sail Port Stephens Regatta Lead in Race
This event is scheduled for Sunday 10 April 2011. Visit “Sailing Notices” accessed from the “Sailing Division” page to view the Notice of Race, and for online race entry.
The NCYC organised lead in race follows the the RPAYC organised Pittwater to Newcastle race scheduled for Saturday 9 April 2011. The Sail Port Stephens Regatta will be in the week 11 to 17 April 2011.
