New page to assist with crewing needs
Skippers are always looking for new crew, and there are many people looking for a chance to do just that. Our recent Try Crewing Day certainly created a lot of interest and opportunities. As a follow up NCYC now has a “Yachts Requiring Crew & Crew Seeking yachts” page. This page can be accessed through “Sailing Division” on the menu bar.

2010-2011 Sailing Season off to a great start
The 2010-2011 Season Spring Short Ocean Pointscore Series Race 1 also incorporated the Inaugural Try Crewing Day organised by BIA and supported by YNSW. Skippers at Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club were pleased to be able to show support for the Boating Industry of Australia, and Yachting New South Wales by getting right behind this initiative. It proved to be a highly successful event for our club with YNSW’s Andrew Cribb addressing a large number of would-be sailors before they headed out to sea to participate in the first of our pointscore races for the season.
Try Crewing Day 2010
A great experience! FREE Sunday 12 September 2010. Organised by the Boating Industry of Australia and supported by Yachting NSW.
Try Crewing Day is an opportunity for all members of the community to become involved in our sport, while participating as part of a crew, learning the basics of sailing and what an easy sport it is to get into. NCYC Members, please pass this message on, and encourage your friends, family members and colleagues to come along for a great day of fun on the water!
Participants must be over 18 years of age.
