C. On Water Incidents
a. Precautions:
All NCYC boat skippers and crew should familiarise themselves with:
i. NCYC Emergency Management Plan - a copy should be aboard each vessel
ii. NCYC Emergency Contact Points – A copy of the should be in an easily accessed location aboard each vessel.
iii. NSW Maritime Requirements in case of accident.
iv. Some of the relevant Navigation (Collision) Regulations that must be adhere to on the water. Click here
v. Procedure for Reporting Accidents - NSW Maritime Policy for Handling Incidents Occurring in Aquatic Events.
vi. NSW Maritime expectations of the organising club.
vii. recommended charts – Newcastle harbour is located on two major Maritime charts: AUS 207 and AUS 208
b. After an Accident / Incident:
i. When an incident occurs between yachts racing within a club event under the Club’s Aquatic Licence :
