Christmas New Year season sets great benchmark

“The Club activities are certainly up and active and I have great pleasure in reporting a bumper trading last quarter which we find a very gratifying and creditable result which would be the envy of many clubs. The result is particularly meritorious given we have no supporting income from poker machines.

I must congratulate our CEO Roy Baker and all of his staff in the Club, office and marina as the result is further support of the fact that your Club is in a very sound financial position.” says our Commodore.

CYCA

For the attention of Members, Rolex Sydney Hobart Race Competitors and Fellow BlueWater Yachtsmen and Yachtswomen.

As you are aware, an internal CYCA Inquiry is currently underway into the Flinders Islet Race which resulted in the tragic loss of Andrew Short and Sally Gordon and the vessel PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Although the Committee is still preparing its final report, some issues have arisen which the Board feels it is important to draw to the attention of members competing in any off-shore event, but more particularly the forthcoming Rolex Sydney to Hobart race.

Etchells Sponsorship Opportunity

Pic1The Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club is currently seeking a Naming Rights Sponsor for the Inaugural NCYC Easter Etchells Regatta for 2010. The regatta is proposed to be an annual event that will in time attract the premier yachtsman in Australia as well as abroad.

A recent Etchells regatta held at Lake Macquarie Yacht Club attracted such names as John Bertrand, Rob Brown and Peter McNeil. Etchells are a one design class that provides very close racing which enhances its spectator appeal.

Pic2The NCYC are currently looking for a Naming Rights Sponsor that will provide monetary sponsorship that will aid in the running of the event and are looking to prominent local businesses within Newcastle to aid the Club in hosting this regatta.

The exposure level at the Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club is high with the ability to have product placement, banners and signage on display. As well as a strong presence on the website. (See right hand side HOME PAGE logo opportunity). We will also be working with the local media groups to further broaden awareness of the event.

Pic3The event will be held over the 2010 Easter Weekend starting on Thursday 1st April and running through until Monday 5th April 2010.

If you would like to take advantage of this fantastic opportunity or you would like further information please contact:
John Streeter: jstreeter@eje.com.au or 0438 183 653.
