This course develops both your theory and practical skills to confidently take control of the helm. You will learn preparation of the boat, helm and trim on all points of sail and recovery of man-overboard whilst at the helm.
Upon completion of this course you will have the ability to sail in light to moderate wind conditions unassisted by an instructor.
This course is highly recommended for those who have completed the Start Crewing course or those who have some established basic sailing skills. It readies you for the next step in the keelboat program, Start Skippering
Course Length: 4 consecutive weeks – minimum of 12 hours instruction
