This event, designed to promote and develop women’s sailing at NCYC, is planned to become an annual regatta to help our emerging sailing academy graduates make the transition into racing. We aim to create friendships and comraderie to ensure all competitors’ sailing experiences at the NCYC are fun and rewarding.
Six all-female crews will be formed from individual competitor applications to sail with a Sailing Academy allocated skipper/instructor in a regatta of up to eight (8) fun filled races in the club’s fleet of Force 24 keelboats. Crews may swap skippers during the regatta to ensure everyone has the opportunity to develop their skills.
A Training Morning will be held on Saturday 11th March to allow newly-formed crews to practice and work on their boat handling & crew work prior to the regatta. A racing rules & race management briefing will be provided on the Training Morning to enhance our entrant’s knowledge of the conduct of sailing races and provide additional education in the rules required whilst racing.
We have received fantastic support from local businesses and club suppliers to make this a fabulous regatta with wonderful prizes not only for the winners but also for encouragement. We sincerely thank them for their support.
