The Galley’s new spring menu is set to get your taste buds sailing across Newcastle Harbour, the Pacific Ocean and half way around the world to a little country called Spain where the flavours are intense, aromas rich and wine plentiful.
For the first time ever, Chef Ian Farnsworth and his fine team are introducing Spanish Tapas share plates to the menu. Why bother sitting down to one main meal when you can feast on a selection of tasty dishes to share with your friends, accompany this with a bottle of our best pinot grigio and let the conversation flow. Your choice of three tapas plates will set you back just $24, now that’s delicioso!
Spring is the season for seafood and the new menu offers two seafood platter options, a crab and grapefruit chilli salad, freshly shucked oysters and market fresh fish of the day. Chef recommends the chargrilled swordfish nicoise served with pan-fried kipflers, green beans, cherry tomatoes, Kalamata olives and white truffle aioli because of its simplicity, clean tastes and presentation; matched with a glass of Oyster Bay sauvignon blanc, the expansive views of the marina and lingering hours of daylight, it’s the perfect dining experience.
Don’t like change? Well we’ve got you covered, the new spring menu has all of the old favourites like beer battered fish with steak cut chips, salt & pepper squid dusted in chilli spiced flour, grass fed sirloin with stuffed Portobello mushroom and chicken breast with goats cheese and spinach stuffing. Hey, they’re favourites for a reason.
