NCYC Hosted Australian Bureau of Meteorology Free Seminar 2010
On 29 July 2010 one of the Bureau of Meteorology’s Senior Meteorologists, Julie Evans, with the assistance of well known local Meteorologist Paige Butcher, conducted a really interesting and informative evening for a crowd of over 100 people in our marquee. Interest in the seminar had been so intense that it was booked out over a week in advance. The Seminar topics included: How the new system will change marine forecasts and warnings; How wind, waves and weather can affect your boating activities and; How to use the web radar images effectively.
The reason for the seminar was the coming upgrading the Bureau’s weather forecasting services for NSW in September, during which some marine services will change. As a further free service to the Australian public, the Bureau of Meteorology conducted a series of marine seminars for anyone with a professional or recreational interest in the weather. NCYC was proud to host one of the nine seminars held between 24 June and 4 August.
