NCYC is excited to have a kitchen staffed by an experienced restaurant team who are passionate about food and produce. Executive chef, Tony Harrison, and his accomplished staff moved from Bistro Lowlands to join us at NCYC.
Tony trained with Robert Molines at Bistro Molines in the Hunter Valley and developed a love for classic French Bistro dishes and seafood, and after a career in Newcastle and the Valley spanning more than a decade, his preference for being by the water and fresh quality seafood made the Yacht Club an obvious choice for a venue.
Tony is joined by the same team that was involved at the original site of Nor East Bistro on Newcastle Harbour nearly a decade ago, and worked together at Bistro Lowlands. Tony’s right hand man, Darryl Popp, is head chef and has previously worked in kitchens across London.
The move to a bigger venue coincides with a higher-end menu concentrating on fresh seafood and the French Bistro classics that Tony has become known for.
The Clubhouse and restaurant are now open, Nor East Bistro offers an extensive menu including a rotating specials list and daily specials.
