Knowing how to use spinnakers is a highly regarded crewing skill and one of the key elements of a Bow-person or Trimmers role on a boat.
This special [email protected] spinnaker course aims to cover the skills required to hoist, trim and drop a symmetrical spinnaker. Participants will work through how to hoist and set a spinnaker using either a pole or by “floating”. You will learn how to correctly trim the spinnaker when running and reaching including the best pole position & height. Spinnaker trim when gybing and how to gybe the pole will be covered and then you will learn how to drop the kite quickly & efficiently so it’s ready to go back up again without any tangles!
Learn or brush up your skills just in time for our [email protected] Open Regatta in November or our Women’s League on the Elliott 6s.
