Our School Holiday Experiences aim to introduce sailing & water based activities in a fun & safe environment. We offer 1-day “give it a try” and 3 or 4 day programs, depending which school holidays it is and we run from 9:00am to 3:00pm each day.
OutThere Sailing is the ideal way to have fun and get active on the water – spend your days outdoors in the fresh air learning new skills & participating in challenging activities!
Would you like to try sailing on a small inshore keelboat which is the perfect size for you, an Instructor and three other friends, or new-found friends?
On top of the sailing activities, there are also fun powerboat and marine experiences along the way. We will also investigate some cool adventure type stuff like inshore navigation, passage planning, safe anchoring & general seamanship skills – like how to rescue a man-overboard.
A big part of the OutThere Sailing program is the social element of simply enjoying time spent with peers and doing some thing fun. OutThere Sailing will keep friends together and keep you learning together. So a person who has sailed before can sail together with a mate who might be completely new to the activity!
A special part of the OutThere Sailing program at the NCYC is that you will get to see the city of Newcastle from a completely different angle – see if you can identify places you know in the city! Also, weather permitting, we may have the opportunity to check out the Stockton foreshore and sail up the Hunter River.
