We welcome you to join us on-water, under the watchful eye of our Australian Sailing qualified instructors.

Sailing our Force 24 keelboats with work mates, you’ll be steering your own course on Newcastle Harbour in no time!

A sailing session is an excellent event for staff team-building, for corporate entertainment or as a Christmas party celebration!

Our experienced instructors can pitch the session at whatever level is appropriate depending upon the abilities, interests and needs of your guests.

We also have great functions packages to link into your sailing to make a great day of it at NCYC!

OPTION 1 Sailing Cruise

Sailing Cruise with basic instruction

An easy and casual introduction to sailing!

Our instructors will take you on a gentle cruise around Newcastle Harbour where you can enjoy the rare and coveted sight of our city from the water.

Basic instruction in boat handling will help you to learn the basics.

Return to the clubhouse afterwards to enjoy a refreshing drink ‘on the house’ and celebrate your time on water.

Cost:

1.5 hour session

$265 per boat

Bookings:

Available Tuesday to Friday all year. Block out dates may apply from time to time. Session times dependent on availability of boats and sufficient daylight (during non-daylight savings times).

OPTION 2 Sailing Lesson

Sailing Lesson with Skippering Experience

Enjoy learning the skills of sailing a keelboat with your crew, working together to sail the boat efficiently, even holding the tiller yourself and being master of the vessel!

We rotate the crew in all positions on the boat so crew will come away with a variety of skills and experiences.

Return to the clubhouse afterwards to enjoy a refreshing drink ‘on the house’ and celebrate your time on water.

Cost:

2 hour session

$350 per boat

OPTION 3 Mini Regatta

Sailing Lessons with Mini Regatta

Pit your crews newly acquired sailing skills against your fellow sailors and compete for the prestigious ‘NCYC Corporate Cup’!

A few hours of intense instruction to learn and hone your skills, then it’s into racing ‘around the buoys’ for a bit of competitive fun!

Return to the clubhouse afterwards to enjoy a refreshing drink ‘on the house’ and celebrate the crew who were victorious in taking out the coveted trophy!

This is our most popular Corporate Sailing option!

Cost:

3 hour session

$425 per boat

Bookings:

Corporate sailing challenge

NCYC has partnered with Leadership Expert, Greg Mowbray to provide businesses and organisations an opportunity to build team spirit, improve outcomes and have fun on the water.

Greg will work with you to identify your needs, then put together a customised half day training program to be held at NCYC.

After a delicious lunch we will break into crews aboard the Club’s Force 24 Keelboats with qualified instructors for sailing orientation then a fun, competitive regatta.

Back at the Clubhouse we will celebrate with drinks, nibbles and
pizzas.
