We extend a warm invitation to all NCYC Members, to take up an opportunity to jump onboard for a FUN beginners level sailing experience and join in the wonderful atmosphere that is Wednesday Twilight Sailing!
For the next two weeks, we invite NCYC Members to give racing a go, and join us on the Harbour aboard one of our Force 24 inshore keelboats for a 2-hour sailing experience, completely FREE!
We cater for absolute beginners – no prior sailing experience required!
Wednesdays are the vibe at NCYC with the precinct busy with everyone enjoying our popular weekly club Twilight Racing and friendly atmosphere.
- Meet at the marina at 5:15pm
- Lifejacket/PFD provided
- Safety Briefing by Australian Sailing qualified keelboat instructors.
- Head on water with your instructor and three other crew mates (five on-board).
- ‘Learn the ropes’ on the way to the start line.
- Cross the start line near Queens Wharf, race up to Nobby’s and round the buoy, race back to the clubhouse as the offshore fleet are also heading back to the Club with the sun setting.
- Around 7:30pm you’ll be back in the marina to un-rig the boat, then head up to the Club for the ‘Boat of the Day’ presentation.
- Enjoy a drink with the NCYC racing fleet.
- Share your sailing stories!
- Take in the live music on the podium.

What to wear – Where to Meet
Our Force 24 fleet are moored on F-Arm of our marina, directly out the front of the clubhouse.
Meet your instructor at the marina gate where you’ll be fitted with your lifejacket/PFD.
Wear comfortable clothing that will keep you warm and allow ease of movement.
Please wear fully enclosed shoes (like sandshoes) to protect your feet around the marina and on the boat.
Depending upon the weather conditions for your sailing day, a hat, sunglasses, sun cream or a wind/waterproof jacket would be useful.
Twilight Jazz on the Water
. . . after sailing on Wednesday, enjoy some warm jazz on the water performed by local band ‘Breeze’.
Performing from 6-8pm, they are the perfect mid-week break paired with Nautica Dining’s fantastic food and our array of summer ales.
