Description
This event, designed to promote and develop women’s sailing, is an annual regatta to help our emerging Sailing Academy graduates and invited teams from other club women’s training programs, make the transition into racing. We aim to create friendships and comradery to ensure all competitors’ sailing experiences are fun and rewarding.
Six all-female crews will be formed from individual applications to sail with a Sailing Academy allocated skipper/instructor in a regatta of up to four (4) fun filled races in the club’s fleet of Force 24 keelboats. Crews may swap helmspersons during the regatta to ensure everyone has the opportunity to develop their skills.
A Training Session is also held to allow crews to practice and work on their boat handling & crew work prior to the regatta. A racing rules & race management briefing will be provided as part of the Training Session to enhance our entrant’s knowledge of the conduct of sailing races and provide additional education in the rules required whilst racing.
We have received fantastic support from local businesses and club suppliers to make this a fabulous regatta with wonderful prizes. We sincerely thank them for their support.
