Marine VHF Radio Course

SHORT RANGE OPERATORS CERTIFICATE OF PROFICIENCY (SROCP) course

This nationally recognised qualification is required for anyone using marine VHF radios and is highly recommended for recreational boaters and sailing enthusiasts.  It is also recognised as valuable training and practical skills for sailing instructors.

The qualification is a mandatory requirement for all commercial maritime operators in Australia.

SELF-STUDY MODULE

This SROCP Marine Radio course is designed as a self-study program, with a practical revision and exam session held in the clubhouse.

The minimum age for this course is 16 years.

Study Materials

Course participants will be provided with a copy of the Australian Maritime College (AMC) Handbook upon registration.  This can either be collected from the Club or posted out to you.

You may also access an online copy via the link below.

We strongly encourage participants to allocate regular periods to review all chapters of the handbook prior to the revision module.
