Marine VHF & MF/HF Radio Course

LONG RANGE OPERATORS CERTIFICATE OF PROFICIENCY (LROCP) course

This nationally recognised qualification required for those operating both VHF and MF/HF marine radios, and highly recommended for anyone pursuing recreational maritime training.

Increasingly race organisers are requiring crews in long distance sailing, whether that is cruising or racing, to hold this certification.

The qualification is a mandatory requirement for all commercial maritime operators in Australia.

SELF-STUDY MODULE

This LROCP Marine Radio course is designed as a self-study program, with a practical revision and exam session held in the clubhouse.

The minimum age for this course is 16 years.

Study Materials

Course participants will be provided with a copy of the Australian Maritime College (AMC) Marine Radio Operators Handbook upon registration.  This can either be collected from the Club or posted out to you.

You may also access an online copy via the link below.

We strongly encourage participants to allocate regular periods to review all chapters of the handbook prior to the revision module.
